Wordpress clients updated to version 3.3.1

06-Jan-12

We would like to inform our clients that we have updated our Wordpress sites to version 3.3.1. If you experience any problems with the update please don't hesitate to contact us.

Why have we updated Wordpress?

Wordpress 3.3.1 includes a number of improvements to maintain security and overall use of Wordpress. This update comes with a host of new features which will allow Wordpress's clients to update their websites easier and quicker.

What's included in the latest update?

  • New Admin bar

To save space and increase efficiency,Wordpress combined the admin bar and the old Dashboard header into one persistent toolbar. Hovering over the toolbar items will reveal submenus when available for quick access.

  • Wordpress Drag and Drop media uploader

    Drag and Drop Media Uploader

Adding photos or other files to posts and pages has been made easier with the implimentation of Drag and Drop. Simply drag files from your computer and drop them into the uploader. Add one file at a time, or many files at once.

  • Fly out menu's

Speed up navigating the dashboard and reduce repetitive clicking with Wordpress's new flyout submenus. As you hover over each main menu item in the dashboard navigation, the submenus will magically appear, providing single-click access to any dashboard screen.

  • Wordpress Feature Pointers

    New Feature pointers

Part of the latest update include the introduction of Feature Pointers. Whenever Wordpress adds a new feature, moves navigation items in the dashboard or does anything else that might throw you, they'll let you know about it with new feature pointers explaining the change.

  • Responsive Design

Certain dashboard screens have been updated to look better at various sizes, including improved iPad/tablet support, making it easier to update your website on different devices.
